Yes, schools can bring a field trip to Escape 618 in downtown Belleville. We run weekday visits by appointment, with custom pricing built for school groups. Our rooms are built around logic, communication and cooperation, so the visit works like a hands-on team exercise rather than a typical tour.
Which room fits a school group?
Detention is the room we recommend for most classes. It’s open to students age 10 and up, and it skips scares or sudden lighting changes in favor of locks, keys and hidden clues. We run two nearly identical Detention rooms, so a class of up to 24 students can split into two groups and play at the same time.
The Jail Cell and The Haunted House of Alice are built for older students. Age minimums across our rooms:
- Detention: ages 10 and up
- Jail Cell: ages 13 and up
- Haunted House of Alice: ages 16 and up
If your group includes younger middle schoolers, Detention is the clear fit. Students 13 and older can also try the Jail Cell, and students 16 and older the Haunted House of Alice.
How does a field trip visit run?
Plan on roughly 75 to 90 minutes total, start to finish. Students check in, sign a digital waiver and get a quick briefing from their game master before the 60 minute clock starts. A game master watches the room the entire time and can offer a clue if a group gets stuck, or hold off if the class wants to solve it without help. Once time is up, everyone gets a free group photo, whether or not they escaped.
Who needs to stay with students?
A teacher or chaperone needs to remain on site for the whole visit. Any student under 18 needs a parent or guardian signature on the digital waiver before the game starts, and if a student is under 16, an adult must stay on site while that room is running.
How do we plan a visit?
Reach out ahead of your trip date since school bookings run on weekdays by appointment, with custom pricing for school groups. A standard single room booking can go through escape618.com/booking/, but for a school visit, it’s worth starting the conversation with our team first so we can sort out timing and pricing together.
Bring lunch along if you’d like. Our eight outdoor picnic tables out front give your class a spot to eat before or after the game. Our main level is fully accessible, and the basement level, where The Jail Cell runs, is reachable by stairs or a powered chair lift. If anyone in your group needs the lift, give us a call before booking so we can plan the visit around it.
